Random happenings...

So it's been a week since I last posted, and quite a bit of stuff has happened, so hang on folks, this is gonna be a long one. The end of the bus ride from my last post is where I will pick up.

Friday 3/9: I was on my way to go pick up keys from a classmate so I could go watch her dog, she was going skiing in Tahoe and needed someone to watch Nunu. So I picked up keys, went to school to work and then around 8 I went to the apartment to walk the dog. My school's across the street from Pier 39, Nunu lives in North Beach (little Italy) and I had only been to her apartment once. I of course got lost. I knew she lived on Grant and Green, yet I was standing on the corner of said streets and pretty much spun around in place looking for something, ANYTHING that would be a landmark to how I got here the past Wednesday to re-introduce myself to the dog. Finally, place found, dog leashed, way excited, down we go, into the heart of North Beach.

Whoops.

It's FRIDAY NIGHT. Everyone is out, and let me tell you, it's hard to walk a dog when weaving through throngs of people, some of which are already drunk (IT'S 9PM!) and Nunu is of course completely oblivious, walking with nose in ground looking for some trash she can eat.

Sat 3/10: Cut to next day, at 7am I'm on my way to see Nunu for her morning walk. Lucky for her, a beautiful sunrise and many photo oppurtunities silences my disgruntledness.

Sunrise over the Bay Bridge. Puuuurdy.
Looking down Montgomery Street (cross street Green)

Nunu, the Bichon Frise.
It's still Saturday, I'm at home after walking Nunu, and the roommates decide to go to the beach, I'm along for a ride, let's do this. The fog is rolling in on Ocean Beach, but it's pretty, and there's a sand surfer rolling back and forth, totally hamming it up for the camera (who could blame him).

Sand Surfer from far away and then up close.

The rest of the day is spent walking the dog, working at school, eating pizza and walking the dog.

Sun 3/11: It's fucking hot people! What happened? It's probably global warming, and I should probably be way concerned, but right now, roomates and I are thinking it's a beautiful day, let's make the most of it. We're going Clement St. to Ocean Beach to Lincoln Park to who can really remember (not me) and there some great picture taking in this, check the flickr for more, but here's a taste:

Golden Gate through a bunch of trees.

Mon 3/12: School

Tues 3/13: Crappy school AND BIRTHDAY! Woohoo it's my sister's birthday and since I haven't really told too many people (uh, maybe four) the story of the cake-schlepping, let's do it here (oh won't it be fun). Ordered a cake the day before from the apartment's favorite bakery Victoria's Pastry Co., way too cute a place, there's an old Italian lady called Victoria in there, never spent enough time to ask who she was, what she's doing there and what's her life story, but they make damn good pastries and very nice cakes. I had my morning class in SOMA, field trip to the PG&E Center to study lighting, and so I took the 15 that cuts through China Town, North Beach and invariably ends up right outside my school. Get off on Columbus and Broadway because I think that's near where the bakery is.

WRONG.

It's on Stockton, a block over and two blocks up. Yet I have already wasted about ten minutes going up one street then changing my mind and going down the other way, no, no, turn on this intersection, walk a little, oh no. WHERE THE FUCK AM I?? Get through to the bakery, get directions, get there, pay and grab cake and try, TRY to make it to my noon class. It's probably 11:55 and I'm nine blocks away from school. The professor was late so I somehow made it on time. Sometimes, I'm just one lucky pluck.

Happy Birthday Sai!

Insane in the membraaaane...

I can't believe I'm surprised by this, but today I was riding the 14 (Mission st. MUNI) and I came to the realisation that I was surrounded by crazy people. Not just "Oh that person's a little to weird to be normal", but actual talking-to-yourself, arguing-with-yourself, laughing-at-a-joke-that-voice-inside-your-head-made type crazy.

I counted three, THREE people that either walked by me on the bus or was sitting in front of me that were talking to themselves out loud.

The first was a hispanic lady who kept ringing the stop bus line even though she wasn't getting off, and when she finally decided to get off, she was standing at the door (on the inside) looking at the floor in front of me, shaking her head with furrowed brow as if annoyed by the floor. Then there was the asian guy with long hair, dirty fingernails (gross) and black (dirt) addled feet that started yelling at the window, harrumphing because the bus was going too slow.

The last, and my favorite (sarcasm!) one was the Phillipino lady who first started out by moving her jaw in a weird way, not chewing, it was a kind of side-to-side action here, with -of course- furrowed brow, she was heavily concentrating on something who knows what, and moving her nose in a weird way (the bus was actually going really slowly, there was construction on the road so I had alot of time to analyze this woman). That moved on to her moving her small bag from on her lap, to the seat next to her, to the floor, back to the seat, her lap then finally the seat again. Then when were actually in gridlock because we had one lane on a usually two lane super busy road, she turned around to face the driver (she was sitting in a seat facing the back of the bus) and started making loud comments (in Phillipino) to herself and laughing (really loudly) about -I'm presuming- how slow we were going. I mean, it's nice to have a chuckle about how the we're going at a snail's pace, but it was as if she was talking to someone, that someone being the back of the aforementioned crazy asian guy's head (who of course was too busy harumphing to himself to take notice).

Anyway, I was on the F-line going to school when I started contemplating how the 14 has a higher concentration of crazy than any other bus I've been on, except any Haight bus, that's pretty much 75% crazy people on there.

Ack!

It really doesn't get any better than this: Moo cat freaking out, I'm not too sure what's up with her, but she's kicking and licking and sometimes she'll even run away. This is just a taste of living the the Moo-raka...

Oh the absolute horrible dispiriting pain...

Today in Tuesday.

On Sunday I finally gave in and did a 24 minute work out from a DVD called "Start It Up!" I've always been heavier than my classmates, and after looking at a picture of myself in Y9, I realise how much weight I've gained since then, and I was not happy. I did okay, the arms in the air thing burned by the end, and the squats were killing me, but I survived, with just a spritz of sweat and quite a bit of energization.

Monday was a different story.

I woke up IN PAIN. Oh dear God, I really didn't need to be reminded of what it felt like the day after a strenuous P.E. session at B.P.S. This was not good, not good at all. My QUADS, the damn frontal-thigh muscles were absolutely killing me and I am sooooo not a happy camper when it comes to pain. Smartly enough, I didn't take any pain killers with me to school, so I had to endure sitting down on a low sofa and getting back up multiple times, trying to use my arms intead of my thighs (who knew I needed those to get out of a chair?), and I almost had a hernia trying to pull myself out of a bus seat on the way home. Still, Monday morning I totally did the work out again because I knew the pain was because my muscles were screaming "You asshole! You deserve every pang for your stupid, stupid body envy!"

Today is Tuesday. And I didn't work out today. I didn't have time. But I will definately do it tomorrow.

Definately.

Bangkok smog reducing!

An article in the NY Times today talks about how Thailand has reduced their bad air quality, which is so awesome because we all like to be able to breathe easier in the city of smiles or angels or whatever. And I'm always for posting positive things about Thailand. The first paragraph below, click the title for the link to the full article.

Breathing Easier as the Battle for Blue Skies Pays Off

"BANGKOK — Black smoke billowing from tailpipes into the humid, tropical air was once a Bangkok trademark. But a decade and a half after Thailand began a battle for better air quality, this erstwhile icon of smog has emerged as a role model for pollution-choked capitals in Asia, with considerably cleaner air than Beijing, Jakarta, New Delhi and Shanghai."

Crazy cool slinky chair

I totally didn't believe this chair was sittable until those two actually sat on it, but I wonder how strong it is when it's stretched out fully. It's looks like at least the end panels are made of particle board...I dunno, but...so pretty...

Dood....SO full....

So this is how my day went:

0930 - Roll out of bed, it's Saturday, I'll get up whenever I feel like getting up (nevermind that I haven't had to wake up earlier than 9 for the past three days and the day before I didn't even open my eyes until 10:30...shut up)
0945 - Pour myself a bowlful of Honey Bunches of Oats and devour
0950 - Give in and pour myself another bowl of cereal and repeat devouring
1000 - Eat some of my sister toasted tortilla/butter/honey breakfast (she offerred!!)
1145 - Jump into the shower, sis got a car from CCS, we've got a day ahead of us
1215 - Start walking to 9th & Dore to pick up the car
1245 - I'm letting a dog lick my fingers through a hole, she was the sweetest welsh corgie/cardigan mix named Sadie, I was so prepared to take her home, but she was too big a dog *sigh*
1315 - We're on the otherside of town looking for parking on Clement street (SF China Town: The Sequel)
1330 - We're wandering down Clement thinking of where to eat, roasted ducks in the windows, dim sum, dim sum, bakery (ooh, be back later!) and finally the bun store!
1345 - Our butts are parked in a line waiting for some buns and porridge
1415 - Full of BBQ pork buns, porridge, potstickers and this other steamed thing, we're now buying cakes at Shubert's, because that's how we roll, about to puke from fullness and we get more
1435 - Perusing this huge plastic store, they have so much amazing stuff, it completely reminded me of Thailand, with the tubs, and the tiny niknaks that you just don't see in any other store in the States, ever, I buy stackable baskets, a huge tupperware box for my art stuff and a little broom/dustpan combo for kitty litter
1500 - My sister is getting a haircut and I am watching the hairdresser, wondering if she's either cutting wrong or her shears are just really blunt
1600 - We're down Haight street and have been looking for parking for 10 minutes now
1610 - Still down Haight looking for parking
1615 - I've come to the conclusion that American Apparel is seriously overpriced, I'm headed towards Villain
1630 - Score! Sale, serious shopping being done here, in the sale racks only because I'm such a cheapie
1700 - Two shirts, a hat and $61 later, I'm running into another store to buy crepes, the lady in front of me was being a bitch, and then the lady behind the counter was a bitch to me, which sucks, but the crepes are so good
1735 - Walking back from Dore with all our booty, constantly knocking into each other because we have so much stuff
1800 - Start watching "Little Miss Sunshine"
1930-ish - Finish watching "Little Miss Sunday" and have another Napoleon Dynamite realisation that I don't like movies that everyone else raves about
2100 - In Safeway perusing, just for the heck of it
2200 - Eating a home-made burrito at home
2317 - Blogging and soon to sleep

Top Design

I know, I know, I said I wouldn't watch it, I said it was a horrible show, and that it completely misrepresents what I'm going to be doing with life. Well I watched it last night, a marathon actually, and I have to say: It is still a horrible show.

Oh the horror, the absolute horror. I was sitting in the living room, playing 9Dragons and my sister was flipping between American Idol and Top Design.

1. Dear American Idol, stop. Just, please, stop. Love, Asha.

2. I watched (parts of) the "kid" challenge, the "cabana" challenge and the "garage sale" challenge. The garage sale challenge was the latest one and I have to say, I have made my conclusions about all parties involved, especially the show as a whole. And I have to say...the show makes me angry. When the next show starts after Top Design, I am fully, fully frustrated with the decision that was made for the winner (judges, producers, whoever you suck for picking Carissa) aaand that certain people were allowed to stay.

Top Design has basically become the Carissa show because she's a bitch that everyone hates and gets frustrated with everyone, blah blah blah. Usually you love to hate the bitch (i.e. Janice Dickinson), but now, here, the bitch(es) are all hated by me, thoroughly for wasting space and time and taking the limelight away from the true stars, which I'm sure Bravo will kick off the show because they don't cause enough drama. It makes me want to swear off reality T.V. which (of course) I'm not going to do because if I stopped watching reality T.V. I would basically watch Scrubs and Family Guy exclusively.

Anyway, I won't recap the episode because you can go to another site for that and they'll do a much better, much more thorough job of it, but I will vent my conclusions upon you and discuss only the contenstants that made me particularly mad, because this is my blog, muaha!

Matt
Your room was beautiful, I cannot believe that you did not all out win this challenge. Sophisticated, not garage sale at all and everything your client wanted, the judges, producers, powers-that-be at Bravo are completely on crack for not picking you.

Ryan
Leave. Please just leave this competition. You do not deserve to be there, you are an installation artist, not an interior designer, go do art since you obviously have no respect for interior design you should go do something you won't look down upon and think that it's "easy" while your artwork is on a "deeper level". Despite the face that the title is "Top Design" there is an interiors slant here fucker, and you my man, are not an interiors person. You make me mad.

Carissa

You're horrible. Your room was not good. You had nice individual pieces but the room as a whole was barren. You ignored your clients request for lots of storage. You did not deserve to win.

We'll just have to wait and see if I'm stupid enough to watch another episode, after which I will blog, completely angry at the world for allowing this horror to continue.

Oh...the mmorpgs!!

So I was over at W's this past weekend and he has gotten me hooked on this new mmorpg that's in beta mode right now, free to download and free to play, sounds too good to be true right? So far I'm seeing more pros than cons in this game so for the moment, it's not too good to be true...yet.

But I have to say, I enjoyed the game for the first four hours I played it over the weekend, and now that I'm home on my laptop, I'm still in the process of downloading it (96% woohoo! Almost there!) The game it pretty simple, based on "kung fu" styles, heavy Chinese/Japanese influences, with clans, daggers and fighting wheels. Oh yeah, and a shitload of chimeras walking around hissing.

The only problems so far is that navigating with the camera is a little hard, but you know, that could just be my picky need to view from a certain angle as my character turns while running through the terrain. Also, you can't use the arrow keys to move, it's all mouse clicking unless you've got lightfoot (speedy running), I guess I got spoiled with CoH with the whole navigating with my arrow keys, which I loved. And the last...I forgot. I had one that didn't have to do with navigating but I forget. Oh...the advertising. Whenever you enter a new place, there's a little billboard ad for Acclaim (the parent co.) which I'm sure will branch out into other ads for other companies, but W is assuming this is why the game will be free once it's out of beta. There are only two servers, one for U.S. and one for Europe, which sucks because on the weekends the U.S. servers pretty damn crowded and laggy.

I'll be back soon with more updates and screen shots, for now, the download's complete and I'm off to play!

Note: Winzip is still opening up the stupid zipped file, and I wanted to just say how annoyed I am sometimes at the posting on this blog. I'll admit I am anal about a few things, and one of them is my paragraph spacing. To properly emote how I am speaking and for better clarity of separation of topics, I use paragraph spacing, and it just pisses me off sometimes because it just doesn't work and I have to go back, sometimes as much as four or five times to try and change the spacing to make sure it's the way I want it. I just want it right! Ugh!

Another Note: It's the next day!!!! And this stupid thing still isn't working. I have now switched to html and this is ridiculous, there is a billion div align="left" functions but they're obviously not doing anything except assigning non existant text to left! UGH!

Yet Another Note: My brain, oh my brain is about ready to explode. This is driving me insane.
The Last Note: Okay, it's now the next next day and I've fixed the problem, stepped back, calmed down, I think I can properly function in society without standing there pulling out my hair and screaming a'la Turk from Scrubs:

Moss Beach!

Yesterday my sister and her husband decided to go to a beach to hang out since it was a such a beautiful and warm day. Out of character for me, when asked if I wanted to go, I said yes.

So off we went, in the car down the 101 to the 280 to the 1, first glance at the ocean really wakes you up in the morning, it almost completely clear, waves crashing, air smelling great and feeling warm. It was truely a beautiful February day.

On the way down (to where I didn't know) we stopped at this beach (I looked, I have no idea where it is) to watch the hundreds of surfers that had gathered to try and catch a real wave. I know this picture doesn't show it, but the cove that this beach was in was huge, and from practically edge to edge, there were just a ton of surfers waiting out there.

Surfers at unknown beach
I don't know if it's just me, but I like watching surfers on land too, sometimes it's even more interesting to see the differences in the types of surfers, the way they move when they're out of the water, even who they're with is interesting to see. Like one surfer who walked out, over to his wife, who we had been watching because they had a golden retriever with a ball that was just hilarious to watch. Then there was the tale male surfer that was doing Sun Salutation yoga in front of us, first time I ever saw that, but cool...anyway...onward...
Pathway back up to the real world
After watching the surfers, we moved on down the highway and ended up in Moss Beach. We drove down through a cute neighborhood to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, known for their tidepools, wooded hikes and apparently contaminated water. But it's really cute, you drive through a neighborhood, there's a little parking lot, the Marine Reserve buildings and a short walk down a path, some rocks and over a flowing beach stream to a long beach covered in smooth rocks with holes in them.

Can you spot the seal?
The best part was that there were seals at the beach, that I was told were feeding, they were just hanging out, riding the surf and popping their heads out to stare at us weird looking humans. They were definately a cute bunch.

Ahhhhh...sunbathing
Once the tide started going out, and the rocks started showing up from under the surf, the seals climbed onto them and started their sunbathing. So cute, and a wonderful end to a our field trip.

Ninja Poetry

I absolutely love his constant use of the word "Onomatopoeia"! It's such a crazy amazing word that totally reminds me of IB English. That and alliteration.

Happy Valentine's!

Yes, yes, yes, Happy Valentine's day, it's wonderful, we're all happy, in love or just love pink. But I'm more thinking about how I've seriously not accomplished anything today. I cleaned up, because it was in a state after making a concept board Sunday night/Monday morning, and theeeeen...hm...ate? Took a shower? Went to Sports Authority to look at snow pants, a backpack and a compass, ended up buying a compass for site visits, ran over to Foodsco and picked up toilet paper and paper towels.

See this is the problem with Project Runway marathons, in between all the none stuff I've done I have managed to watch three, maybe four episodes of PR and it's killing me. Now I'm sitting at my desk wallowing with a bowlful of flan and dulce de leche ice cream. Yum, but still wallowing.

There's a hole above the Mission...

...is what my roommate said to me today. That was after I blinded myself opening my curtains to see why it's so bright outside and looking at the sun. It's been really rainy the last few days, and today, there's a break in the clouds right above the Mission (maybe Potrero hill) and luckily we live really close by and the hole is somewhat over our apartment too. The breeze is so nice, the temperature great (it was warm and humid yesterday) and the sky looks gorgeous (above out apartment).

Here's some photographic documentation, as taken through our not-so-clean window (as usual, clickity click for larger versions):

The view towards Twin Peaks with the UCSF Cell Culture building peeking in on the left.

Above the UCSF building.

Moving along the UCSF building towards the east (I'm looking south).

The bright hole towards the east, (UCSF building peeking on the right).

I know what you're thinking: "Enough with the stupid UCSF building already!"

Here's what I say: It's in the stupid picture, it's a point of stupid reference, and if you still complain, you're a stupid idiot. Insult!

Happy New Year! Love, SF Chinatown

I'm not a very good partially-Chinese person. I didn't even know Chinese New Year was next week! A friend and I decided to go and explore Chinatown, of course we picked one of the first few days in a downpour to go walking. Okay, it wasn't so much a downpour as a constant and annoying sprinkle. So it's Chinese New Year so the city (I guess) closed down many of the streets all the stores and restaurants and private business owners have set up booths, with stages every so often for performers. We ventured up Grant St. found a place to eat, I had duck over rice, her duck over noodles, and then we skedaddled back to Union Square because the rain was really getting to be a pain. Great fun.

A view of booths, umbrellas and rain.

Southwest wishes you a Happy Chinese New Year!

I can't believe how many people there are, guess the rain doesn't stop anything from happening here.

A man in a white tux rocking out on his Chinese violin. Classic.

Cupcakes!

I probably would ban myself from blogging more than once a day, if I didn't have so much incredibly important stuff to blog about. CUPCAKES people! The most important thing in your world! I've already eaten three today, I'm immune the sugary seizures these things cause.

It's the cheater's way of making a valentine's cupcake:

1 box of White Cake Mix
1 package of red (strawberry, raspberry, whatever) jello mix
1 tub of thawed coolwhip topping
red sprinkles
Three eggs, 1 1/2 cups of water & 1/3 cup of oil (for cake mix)

1. Mix cake mix according to directions
2. Add in the dry jello mix, mix well
3. Bake according to cake mix direction in cupcake liners
4. Take out, cool and cover with coolwhip
5. Sprinkle your sprinkles and eat!

Note: They taste better when they've hung out in the fridge for a bit

I actually threw away some batter because they tasted so weird coming out of the oven, but after adding the coolwhip (i.e. more sugar and cream), they tasted great.

Moo won't eat any cupcakes, but she's perfectly happy on the heatpad on this cold, rainy day.

Skyscrapers

In one of my classes we were researching different skyscrapers, and I stumbled across this picture that graphs skyscrapers around the world. I can't remember which website it came from, but it's still a cool picture, click for a full size view.

Beep-bloop-beep-boop-boop

Bah! That stupid Super Mario Bros. song is now STUCK IN MY HEAD. And it's not like it means anything, no words, no emotions, just "Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-DAH-boomp!" I just realised how much work I have to do for classes and I haven't done jack-whipple at all today besides lay around watching reruns^108 of Project Runway season 3, you know, with Angela, and Laura, and Uli, Michael, all those horrid and lovely (respectively) people. Oh and I meandered down the street to get some stackable filing things so that I could stack my white paper, file folders, and "special" papers neatly without having to knock over one thing to get to the other. Oh, and I moved some things around in my room. Other than that, BULL-WHIPPLE!

Got so much work to do, yet I'm constantly on this blog, thinking of things to write about, which is probably why I'm now posting multiple times a day as opposed to once a month. Maybe taking an online class wasn't such a great idea for me, since I'm such a net-junkie and basically will find any reason to surf the net. Which takes me to Tyra Banks (no surprise here), for whatever reason (severe lack of something productive to do) I was watching the Tyra Banks Show and she had one of those multiple-plastic-surgery people on, who is a "self professed plastic surgery junkie", and with 19 operations under her belt, who's going to argue? Well Tyra starts going on about how "junkie" has such a negative connotation, and it's used for people who abuse drugs, blah, blah, blah. Well you know what Tyra, since you obviously don't know anything about plastic surgery, because you've never had any, let me tell you, at thousands of dollars a pop, this lady is just as bad as a crack-junkie, and so can call herself whatever the friggidy-frack she wants. Got it? Ugh, why I even watch that show in passing really makes me wonder, I should gash myself in the arm with a steak knife everytime I see that show, ADS INCLUDED.

Oh. And another thing. Yes, I totally watched an online clip of her tirade (which I refuse to post, thank you very much, google it or something, I'm not helping your disgusting curiosity) about how The Mirror or The Sun or whatever "The" tabloid printed pictures of her in a strapless swimsuit looking thicker than a size 0, and how they can kiss her "big, fat, ass" *ass slap right here*. Well you know, reaction to tabloids is just as good as tabloids, and that little tantrum just caused tabloids to sell better, tabloid blogs to do better and her ratings to go up all in unison.
Bravo Tyra, bravo.

Super Mario Song!

I'm sure alot of you will appreciate this, Fantent is a site that has compiled 14 videos of people playing the soundtrack from Super Mario Bros. From the beatbox flute to the acapella, some are far better than others, but still entertaining to watch. Click here to go to the webpage. Below is one of the better ones for sure:

This one's for me!

So for the last few (hundred) posts I've been either posting about Moo, pet store visits, or trinkets of non-information that I'm sure fascinates everyone. Well I figured it was time to talk about what's happening with me, because lets face it, life without me is so incredibly boring? Si? No? Well fuck you.

First on the list, (there's a list folks, get ready for a long one) I have been eviscerated by my cat. Yes, I know this is just like a Moo post, but its about my pain and suffering, not Moo's joyous life away from the SPCA, and yes, the sweet lovable lets-bat-this-bottle-cap-around Moo attacked me yesterday with full body force and I have the scabs -I'll spare you pictures- to prove it, but let's get this straight, she isn't a horrible cat, I just play rough and she gets really into it. Moo and I play wrestle daily, basically because I get bored waving a stick with string attached to it, and if I'm not into it, Moo's not into it. So I get on the floor and start tickling her belly, she rolls over, and starts grabbing with front paws, then kicking with back paw, then chomping with fangs. This goes on for a while, me letting her kick then overpowering her with a (cat) body flip. Well after a few bouts of this Moo gets into real fighting mode and starts stalking and then full run, jump and clamp with all claws and teeth on my shoulder and arm. That's when it gets scary because despite her hilarious attempts at hiding herself, she's very good at catching me off guard, and let me tell you people, I signed a waiver saying I wouldn't declaw her, but damn those claws her like a bitch.

Next. I am addicted to Starbursts at the mo'. I bought some during my break from 8 to 6 class day and have basically been slowly consuming piece by the piece the whole damn thing. Even when I put one in my mouth (the red one) and think "Oh, oh, oh, that tastes weird." I keep going, with no regard to color, I just eat, eat, eat. It's really sad, and you know, I like other fruit chews besides Starburst much more, but that's the one they had in the vending machine. I usually like the ones that don't have flavours persay, but more "color" oriented pieces. Like green, purple, orange, yellow instead of apple, grape, orange (hehe), and banana. Makes it more of an adventure (not so much the orange, but the other yes), what will it taste like? What can I compare it to? Takes me back to Dave Chapelle and his Sunny-D/Purple stuff bit. Good times, good times.

Now I know, this is going to be completely superficial point I'm about to make, but let's face it, I'm at my superficial peak here, I just spent a paragraph on fruit chews, I got bangs over the weekend. No, it's not an STD and no, it's not slag for getting beat up, I got the thing, on the forehead, with the hair? Fringe, bangs, Moe head, whatever you want to call it, I got it, for the first time in my life, to cover my forehead. And it was nice. Just nice, because she didn't really cut it even and I had to go back to get her to cut some more off, and I was constantly messing with it, because, hey, it's this big hairball on my forehead poking me in the eye (pre-2nd cut) and then a brush of hair just above my eyeline (post-2nd cut). It took me a while to get used to it, and I'm still getting used to the amount of preparation that goes into it, I have yet to buy gel because I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to put up with these bangs, I've been using vaseline to style. I mean, by 4PM, they're pinned up because I just can't stand the feeling, and I keep wanting to bang my hand against my forehead. I mean, maybe I need longer bangs that I can sweep to the side, maybe I don't need bangs at all, but I figured I may as well give it a try, since nows the time to experiment with hair. I'll probably never get to shave my head bald and let it grow out, so this is the next best "crazy" thing I can do.

And you know, some websites are just too pretty, (not the best link, but really, it's a blog of random thoughts people, be a little more open minded) and it just makes me sad upset/sad because I want my blog to be artsy and pretty, with creams and subtle colors that make you go "Ahhhh, this lady knows what she's talking about, she's not talking about colored fruit chews out of her ass, she means business." I mean, I use the blog template, I diddled with the image so I got one of myself in there, but that's the extent of my knowledge, all the code, it just takes too much time to sort through, I have no patience and definately no coding skills. So I guess I should really take a class in html or web design, either that or go shag someone that knows it already. Wait, wait - I take that back, a pretty website definitely isn't worth a shag, especially since W and I have firmly discussed waiting and I'm pretty sure sex for programming violates that agreement.

And speaking of pretty websites, I was looking at the blog of a high school friend/classmate, and she was talking about (totally gonna steal your topic here candidette, sorry!) high school love, and it really made me think back to the days love in high school, or lack there of really. I was the crush-o-maniac, any guy that was remotely cute, I had a crush on them. Oh that guy over there? Yeah (rubbing knuckles on collarbone), crushed on him too. One at the time of course, I'm no crush-slut. And now that I look back on the days of forlorned crushes, and that nearmiss, I actually look back happily with satisfaction. I mean it sucked ass that I never had anyone "like-like" me back, which by the way, totally freaks me out when I say that, it's like I'm transported back into middle school at Patana asking "Do you like him or do you like-like him????", butterflies in my stomach thinking about how ridiculous it sounds. Anyway, back to.......yes, life being shit because I never had a boyfriend. I mean, it was weird with all these people sucking face next to me, and I just kind of stood there, wriggling my fingers making sure I didn't stare at them and their travelling exhibition of tongue wrestling, and wondered if I would ever, ever have that myself. And now I do of course, and life is happy and wonderful, tra-la-la, but I look back and I'm so filled with satisfaction, because part of the guys I crushed on had horrible taste in women, and the other part were pot smoking drunkards and underaged patrons of the oldest profession in the world. Hmm, lovely. And the rest, well they turned out to be nice guys, what else can I say?

And of course, looking back on it all, I thought that the lack of high school experience would get to me, while everyone can laugh about their high school trysts, all I have to show for high school was a bad haircut and that I beat SouthPark Super Mario Bros. that Sura or Chaiwat downloaded onto the school computer. But really, and this is another step in my development towards normalcy, I need to let all that stuff go, because I cling onto this stuff like crazy on my cat, and it's starting to eat away at my life now, and my happiness now. And I am happy now, doing things I want to do, loving people I want to love, I don't know how long that's going to last so I really should live life for what it is now, instead of what it once was.

Goodnight all, may your dreams be happy and your days be sublime.

Oh Dear God...

I...just, it's so fat!!! Okay, besides the the fact that this cat is catatonic when not eating, he/she is pretty damn cute. You know little kitty doesn't move from underneath her cat comforter or off her cat pillow basically because she CAN'T. Moo would totally not stand for that shit. My goodness people.

I...just...speechless

Seriously, I'm obviously, obviously obsessed with taking pictures of my manaical cat. But these recent pictures honestly render me speechless, some even making me do that weird silent, but deadly and painful laugh that I do, and then I start thinking about how I have folders and folders of pictures of this damn cat, more on my phone and even more still on my camera. My sides hurt so bad just looking at this little freak. I can only hope she will do the same to you. This should be the last post of the week, but you never know. Clickity click for larger versions!

(Make up your own voice)
Uh...hey everyone, how is it going? Just...uh...just chillin' in my pad here.
Hey...so...uh...picture time?

Hmm, what's in here?

Hey! What's out here? Is that...is that string?!

Must...get...string!

Gaaaah, string overload...
Note: These pictures were taken with my camera phone, so please excuse the horrible quality. YOU try running to the next room to get a camera when your cat goes momentarily insane.

Stealth Moo...

Let me begin by singing this song:
"Moo is a weirdo,
She thinks she can be hidden,
By a table cloth that doesn't reach to the floor
Moo is a weirdo
But she makes cute photos
And she's just a cat can I really ask for more."
Okay I'm not sure if that was a haiku or a song, so just enjoy the stupid photos.
Shhh...she might hear you.

FUCK! Run!

Moo decides her hiding place is far too boring and moves on.

Sewing with Moo

So a few weeks ago I posted a story about how I sewed myself some curtains for a window, and I finally found the picture of Moo attacking my beautiful fabric while I was sewing. So here we go...

L: Moo wondering what that roll of seaming tape is and "is it battable?" R: Moo posing in the distance while I wonder how I hell I'm going to get this shit done with her sitting on top of the fabric.

Mo attacking my pin cushion (that was her favorite toy, I was of course constantly afraid she was going to swallow a pin).

A flurry of attacks!

*CHOMP* Moo chews on the fabric! No Moo NOOOOO!

Domain change...

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd let you know in the easiest way possible that the domain for my blog has changed FROM http://buttsrock.blogspot.com TO http://sfht.blogspot.com. If for whatever reason you've decided to link to me from your blog or site, remember to change it because the link won't work under buttsrock anymore.

And in case you were wondering about why the address is SFHT, because I'm sure the minute business is constantly on you mind (and if it is, don't be offended by my sarcasm, I don't mind your obsession), SFHT is superfantastichappytime in initials, and the whole word was a little too long for a web address and superfantastic was taken. I went to that site and it was created August 2004, and has not been updated since its first post. BLAST!

Anyway, I'm sure I'll find some way to let you know, in case you haven't read this post (gasp! blasphemy!) and it gets buried underneath the 14 posts that I will do today.

Trip to the pet store!

We made a trip to the pet store today, because we really needed a brush that would actually pull out Moo's dead hairs since she's shedding all over the friggin' place. I know, I know, she's a cat that's covered in hair, and she's gonna shed regardless, but the key is to minimize the shedding all over my white comforter.
Two chinchillas sleeping in an upturned igloo. That one on top is looking at me suspiciously.

You can totally imagine this guy doing the whole cuteoverload.com
"Ehn! Ehn! Eeeehnnn!" thing.

The tube we bought so Moo can be in small enclosed environment so we don't have to leave paper bags all around the living room. Collapsable into a bed, word (west coast hand sign here).

Sunday Night...

I start the spring semester tomorrow, albeit at 3:30pm, but still, it's a little daunting and I'm secretly prayiing that things will go well, so I shall leave you with this sign, not super rare to see, but still humourous to me.

Taken on 16th & Hoff.

And it still makes me giggle...

Don't get me wrong, I love manatees. They're beautiful, docile, lovely creatures that really make me want to just be a piece of plankton just so I can swim with them and be merry.

And I know that you really can't tell whether this is a manatee or a dugong since you can't see whether its tail is forked or not, and which ever they are their "slow moving, [and] curious nature" is the cause for their diminishing population, since it can make them really vulnerable to boat propellers and fishing gear, AND that really this video is completely exploiting their nature. But this video is hilarious.

And I bet it's that manatee's curious nature thinking "What the fuck are those weirdos looking at?" that propels him/her towards the glass anyway.

TABLE!

You know, I'm such a bag, furniture and uncomfortable shoe addict. Well, I've semi-banned myself from bag and shoe shopping so all that's left is furniture. So I bought a nice little table that's super shallow and long so I can sit and work comfortably at it on my laptop and on paper. Compared to my old clunker that bought when I first moved here because I seriously needed something to work on, sitting cross legged on the floor was killing my already 80 year old back, take a gander:
The definition of clunker right? Had a lot of storage space though, but it was made for a desk top, monitor on elevated platform, keyboard of huge movable platform, which totally didn't work for my laptop, and I wasn't going to shell out another $60 for a new keyboard, usb hub and a converter from circular keyboard plug to usb outlet. So had this behemoth for six months, finally got rid of it on craigslist (cue angelic heaven music) and bought:

Booyah! You probably can't see it because I didn't use the flash and it's blurry and there's a bunch of junk underneath it because all the stuff I stored in the old desk had to go somewhere. But yeah, a little drawer thing to store all my junk (who knew I had that much computer junk), maybe a bedside table instead of my file box, and I'm pretty much good to go. I'm still trying to find out what "style" this table is, they listed it as a Parsons table at the thrift store, so not, and my interior design books help me squat.

And so I leave you with a picture of Moo, in her new window ledge/spot/bed, that she has finally gotten used to, and climbs up there all on her own now! She loves watching the birds fly by and the traffic crawl along the 101. Doncha love the grey sky? Haven't had too much sunny weather in the past few days. Grrr.

Goliath...'nuff said

I'm not sure if any of you have heard of this story, if not, you live under a rock, or...not in the U.S. Seriously, every media outlet, blog, anything is posting shit about this, so I figured I must, because 1. The three people that read my blog aren't in the States and 2. It's just great video footage.

So the story is that this "stray" cat got stuck in someone's cat/doggy door while trying to pilfer from cat food for himself. Yeah, like any stray is seriously that obese. The local news caught light of this hilarity and ran it on the news, at which point the owner realised it was his cat, called up and got his cat back. Q. How does a cat get that big???? A. I have no fucking clue, but I'm putting Moo on a strict diet of 1/2 cup of cat food per day, (not that she really eats that much to begin with, or that she eats people food, and the SPCA told me to give her 1/2 a cup of food per day) for fear that she will BALLOON into this huge leviathon that is Goliath. Ai.
